Abstract

MELSOHN, Isaias Hessel. Men, psychoanalysis, and the new century. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2016, vol.50, n.1, pp.231-238. ISSN 0486-641X.

In this paper, the author proposes that it is impossible to talk about future without being immerse in human destiny, which has a past, a present, and a future. He highlights the importance of retaking the past, which should be incorporated into the psychoanalytic thinking, and he warns for theory not to be turned into doctrine. The author also emphasizes the value of intersubjectivity - the affection exchange which brings people closer and lets the psychoanalyst and his (or her) patient be together.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; future; past; theory; intersubjectivity.
