Abstract

ROBERT, Priscila Pereira  and  KUPERMANN, Daniel. Pain and resistance in psychoanalytical clinic. The handling of negative transferences in Freud’s work. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2012, vol.34, n.26, pp.37-49. ISSN 1413-6295.

The handling of negative transference in Freud’s work is problematized based on the concept of resistance. We approach the problems of the clinics of hysteria, narcissistic neurosis, trauma and masochism. We aim to demonstrate the theoretical and clinical course from which emmerge a dimmension of the handling that, beyond interpretation, consists in supporting and circulating hostile emotions that manifests as resistance to submission within the analytical work. This would be the condition to create possibilities of coping with traumatic helplessness and pain.

Keywords : Negative transference; handling; resistance; pain; psychoanalytical clinic.
