REIS, Emily Aiumi Buraseska; SILVA, Ingrid Lohane da  and  PORTES, João Rodrigo Maciel. Fraternal relationships and autism: an integrative literature review. Pensando fam. [online]. 2021, vol.25, n.2, pp.114-128. ISSN 1679-494X.

This research aimed to raise the scientific production about the perception of neurotypical brother in fraternal relationship with brother with autism. An integrative literature review for the last ten years (2009-2019) was conducted from the databases CAPES, Pepsic and Scielo. We used the following word combinations in Portuguese and English, respectively: autism AND brothers; autism AND fraternal relationships; autism AND siblings; autism AND siblings relationship. 12 studies were selected and analyzed according to the established criteria. Studies show the influence of family and fraternal relationships on the life of the neurotypical brother. It appears that the characteristics of each family interfere with the conditions of relations. between siblings and that there is divergence in parental care with the NT brother compared to the brother with autism.

Keywords : Autism; Fraternal relationship; Experience.
