Abstract

KRUGER, Joelma Goldner  and  MEIRELES LEITE, Sidnei Quezada. The teaching of chemistry in the ongoing integrated technical PROEJA in metallurgy and materials (IFES campus Vitória): analysis of students' perceptions. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.1, pp.171-186. ISSN 1806-5821.

This study concerns an analysis of perceptions of students from the Metallurgy and Materials Integrated Technical of Program of Vocational and Technical Education in Secundary Education integraded in Youth and Adults Education of Campus Vitória of IFES, on science and chemistry education. This curricular study is exploratory, theoretical and empirical, qualitative approach, constructed from observations, questionnaires, analysis of official documents (such as laws and ordinances), and the reference obtained in articles, journals and books the area of teaching science and mathematics. Moreover, people from academic professional experience contributed directly and indirectly with the development of this work. Perceptions and profile of research participants were gathered from the questionnaire over a semester. In the study it was concluded that the chemical content must be reconsidered for the courses in youth and adults, emphasizing curriculum integration, and the introduction of classes is important to improve the quality of chemistry education. It is pointed out that this study may assist in construction of the political educational institutions of professional education. © Cien. Cogn. 2010; Vol. 15 (1): 171-186
