The aim of this qualitative research was to understand the grieving process that adult daughters experienced the death of their mothers and the changes in their families. This type of mourning has been little investigated, although it is common demographically. The main findings are: the death of the mother of an adult daughter may be extremely significant, generates changes in the dynamics of the nuclear family and self, the review of the role of the partners of the daughters in mourning and it may happen that the daughter was "given permission" to his mother to die.
