Abstract

PRESTES, Roberto Balaguer. Leer, memorizar, interiorizar y aprender hoy. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2010, n.20. ISSN 1870-350X.

Educational Institutions have become a privileged place to observe how some learning proposals have become poorly engaging for young students used to participate in a horizontal, multimedia, convergent culture. The new cultural matrix in which we are living, overload with technology, requires different cognitive strategies in order to adapt to it. Despite the important and challenging cultural changes, educational institutions remain basically unchanged. Today´s education and evaluation still require reading, memorizing and incorporating contents, although these things are less important in "real life" these days. Knowledge is less related to containing, to a question of capacity, but to access speeds to places and networks where information flows. The so called "pedagogical subjectivity" needed some things in order to subsist. Those things seem to be outdated. Evocative memory has been slowly replaced by procedural memory. This kind of memory is capable of recognizing patterns and things that have been seen before.

Keywords : Education; technology; interior; subjectivity; learning.
