Abstract

CARVALHO, Eliane Cristina de  and  CARVALHO, Lana Veras de. Childhood, loss and education: possible dialogues. Psicol. pesq. [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.3, pp.73-92. ISSN 1982-1247.  https://doi.org/10.34019/1982-1247.2019.v13.26229.

This study focuses on the interrelation between childhood, loss and education through a worldly phenomenological look. We adopted the qualitative approach in our study, in which we conducted a phenomenological group with children between 11 and 12 years old from a school in Parnaiba City, Piauí. As a methodological resource, we used scenes from three child-oriented animated films that show issues of loss and mourning in their plot. For the analysis of the emerged content, we opted for the mundane phenomenological method. The group showed off as a fertile space for exchanging of experiences, listening-in, support and learning about the theme at school. The movies have been configured as excellent facilitators to broach the issue in the educational field.

Keywords : Childhood; Grief; Elementary education; Motion pictures.
