Abstract

BARACHO, Debora  and  FIORONI, Luciana Nogueira. Your view improves mine: matrix support expanding the view on suffering. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.5, n.2, pp.236-253. ISSN 1983-8220.

Suffering is a consequence of human existence but it has been treated, mainly in the field of health, as a pathological category. The Family Health Strategy (FHE) while including the complexity of health-disease process and relationships needs to listen to the subject who is suffering. Based on the proposal of the Support Matrix - a model for reorganizing the work process by means of care - a workgroup of Family Health, and the experiences of Family Health Strategy professionals and students, work was carried out on questions relating to suffering, through the intervention-research method. Sensitization workshops were held bringing into play such topics as cognition, exchange of knowledge and feelings. The results indicate that the participants built group knowledge as to suffering and placed themselves in the place of the one who suffers, thus promoting the expansion of qualified observation and listening. It was concluded that the Support Matrix made awareness raising possible and as such is an important tool for transforming the work of the Family Health Strategy.
