Abstract

SOUZA, Graceane Coelho de; AGUIAR, Carolina Villa Nova  and  CARNEIRO, Laila Leite. The influence of links with the organization on the worker's subjective well-being. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.4, pp.460-467. ISSN 1984-6657.  https://doi.org/10.17652/rpot/2018.4.13727.

This study aimed to find evidence of discriminant validity between the commitment and entrenchment organizational ties. To do so, the relationships between both ties and subjective well-being (SWB) were tested through correlation and regression analyses, using a sample of 310 workers from different organizations. The results showed that the links behaved in opposite ways in relation to the different dimensions of SWB, since organizational commitment demonstrated the capacity to increase positive experiences (positive affects and satisfaction with life) and decrease negative experiences (negative affects) for the worker, while organizational entrenchment was able to increase negative experiences (negative affects) and partially reduce positive ones (positive affects, without influence on satisfaction with life). These results are consistent with the national research agenda, which has been accumulating evidence that these links are distinct since they have different antecedents and consequences.

Keywords : well-being; work; commitment; entrenchment.
