The Psychological Duty offers on-duty understanding listening by students-on-call of the existential sufferings that are manifested in client's experience at the time of the search for care. At the Federal University of Minas Gerais, the Psychological Duty takes place at the Applied Psychology Service of the institution. The aim of this study is to describe the psychological suffering of this community, which was attended by the Psychological Duty service during the period from June to December 2019. For this, we performed the reading and analysis of 167 reports written by the on-call psychology students using the Hermeneutic Phenomenological method. Based on this reading, 12 categories of psychological demands were created: 1) (In)capacity to experience; 2) Challenges of the future; 3) Academic and/or professional performance; 4) Difficulties in making decisions by oneself; 5) Difficulty in dealing with changes; 6) Dimension of self-confidence; 7) Coping with the bodly realm; 8) Dealing with experiences of the past; 9) Interpersonal relationships; 10) Loving relationships; 11) Family relationships; 12) Loneliness. We thus seek, with the understanding of the psychological suffering of the academic community, the development and improvement of mental health care devices of the internal community of UFMG
