This article aims to discuss and problematize the modes of subjectivation concerning the female body in gender discussions and their relations with contemporary consumer society. Therefore, a theoretical study was carried out, based on the concepts of biopower and control society proposed by Foucault and Deleuze, to identify the forms of agency of bodies in contemporary times and the normative beauty standards. Understanding the ideal body from the understanding of the power games that permeate social relationships, we sought to reflect on the discursive practices that enable the construction of gender and engender possible modes of subjectivation in the social tissue, from the discussion of gender theories formulated by Judith Butler.
