Abstract

TEODORO, Elizabeth Fátima; CHAVES, Wilson Camilo  and  SANTOS, Greiciele Andrade Carvalho dos. On the Paths of Love Addiction: Between Desire and Need. Rev. Subj. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.1, pp.1-13. ISSN 2359-0769.  https://doi.org/10.5020/23590777.rs.v21i1.e9842.

This study objective is to reflect on the love object choices and the extent to which they cease to be in the sphere of desire and start to act in the field of need, that is, of dependence. Psychoanalytic theory was used, emphasizing Sigmund Freud without disregarding the theoretical advances of Jacques Lacan, in addition to some commentators on both. Initially, we can see the dynamism present in the term "love" and its socio-historical character, from its definition to its modes of expression. From psychoanalysis, it is possible to see how some relationships can move from the sphere of desire to the need one, resulting in a dependent type of love that, not infrequently, leads lovers to crazy acts in an attempt to keep the object of love, since its absence causes the reopening of the narcissistic wound, which has its suture in the love object.

Keywords : love; loving dependence; object choices; narcissism; psychoanalysis.
