Abstract

CUNICO, Sabrina Baiana et al. Psychology and family mediation in a core of judicial assistance. Bol. psicol [online]. 2012, vol.62, n.137, pp.141-154. ISSN 0006-5943.

The study was conducted at the center of legal practices in a federal institution of higher education and it aimed to characterize the user's demand met by the Psychology department at the institution. The research was quantitative, conducted through documental analysis. The results indicate that, during the period under study, women would look more often for the service to seek help to solve family conflicts; being alimony their greater demand. However, complaints related to custody, visitation, separation and dissolution of stable unions were also in attendance. The department of Psychology and the practice of mediation are emphasized as alternatives for solving family conflicts, especially when facing the dissolution of the conjugal union
