Abstract

Transexuality as a challenge to psychoanalysis by way of reducing it to ego therapy or seemingly being beyond the oedipical model. Conceptualization differences between: gender identity, gender expression, object choice and genital investiment. Narratives and analysis of myths: Tiresias, Caenis or Caeneus, Iphis, Hermaphrodite and Aphroditus. Construction of gender identity, gender expression, objeto choice and genital investimento according to several authors, mainly Robert Stoller and Jacques André.
