This work presents reflections on suicide, religion and culture, based on the contributions of Freud, as well as the concepts of Durkheim about suicide, reflecting on a literary piece transformed in a movie, which contrasts a religious man willing to help his brother mankind with an atheist that is willing to commit suicide.
