Abstract

HERRMANN, Leda. Interpretation according to Multiple Fields Theory: its effectiveness and its idealization. J. psicanal. [online]. 2007, vol.40, n.73, pp.83-90. ISSN 0103-5835.

Psychoanalytic interpretation is considered by Multiple Fields Theory as the proper action of the psychoanalytic method of field rupture that implies its effectiveness. An idealization form of the psychoanalytic interpretation took place in the pos-Freudian psychoanalysis, which considers just the analyst explanatory sentence that points out mainly the transference from the patient. Such conception of psychoanalytic interpretation is criticized by Multiple Fields Theory because it restrains the possibility of the arising of new meanings, or different self presentations for the patient.

Keywords : Psychoanalytic interpretation; Field rupture; Psychoanalytic method; Multiple Fields Theory.
