Abstract
SANDLER, Ester Hadassa. The Bologna stone. J. psicanal. [online]. 2020, vol.53, n.98, pp.181-192. ISSN 0103-5835.
I present here the transcription of the contribution to the opening of a new semester at the Durval Marcondes Institute of Psychoanalysis of the Brazilian Society of Psychoanalysis of São Paulo (SBPSP). This ceremony welcomed a new cohort at the beginning of psychoanalytical training. My reflections draw from my own experience with such an inaugural event, and also from my many years participating in the various activities and functions of this institution. If my reflection can be considered a lecture or a class, it is only in the sense of fostering a free and open-minded space for mutual internal exchanges. What is psychoanalysis? What makes a psychoanalyst? What would be the gold veins for the education of a psychoanalyst? To me, it's more about alchemy than gold mining - a kind of alchemy represented by the Bologna stone, which at night glowed with the light from the energy it had stored during the day. The kickoff session transcribed here took place on February 29, 2020, two weeks before the physical spaces of our Society had to be closed due to the covid-19 pandemic, to which I allude briefly in the form of a postscript.
