Abstract

A theory of human behavior must be part of a theory including the behavior of organisms in phyla different even form animals. Human behavior is a synthesis of three emergent processes in the history of life in our planet: a) the emergence of neural tissue, b) the emergence of language, and c) the simultaneous emergence of social organization and labor division. Language, in human beings, allowed for the contingency-substitution functions, as an exclusive psychological emergence. It is examined the crucial role of language and name-attribution in the process of social identity as individual and person.
