Abstract
PEREZ-ALMONACID, Ricardo. Functional detachment and efficient causality: Commentary to "Functional detachment and Aristotelian causality: a theoretical analysis" by Ribes-Iñesta. Acta comport. [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.1, pp.35-46. ISSN 0188-8145.
Ribes' target article is commented by developing the thesis that the functional detachment cannot be the Aristotelian efficient cause. The arguments supporting the thesis are twofold: a) to be the efficient cause involves confusing between what explains and what is explained and b) an exegesis of Aristotle causality and in particular the efficient cause, requires that the latter has certain features that functional detachment doesn't satisfy, among which is to be a responsible factor for actualization, to consist in the contact between different and localizable entities, and that the mover provides a form to the moved where it actualizes. It is concluded with the counterproposal that the mediation is the efficient cause, understanding the former as articulation of an occurrence contingency architecture. Likewise, the development of the Behavior Theory explanatory logic as an alternative in experimental psychology is encouraged.
