Abstract

GAZIRE, Patrícia Cabianca. Broken embraces: repetitions and openings in the transferential bond of borderline patients. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2010, vol.44, n.2, pp.79-89. ISSN 0486-641X.

This paper has the purpose of reporting two clinical situations from AMBORDER, in which there are ruptures to the psychoanalytic setting due to experimentation with the body of the analyst, through the act of embracing. From this, we will draw on fundamental concepts proposed by Freud in order to discuss the psychoanalytic practice regarding two issues: 1) what defines psychoanalytic listening? 2) How much will we need to modify the canons, particularly the setting, in order to treat borderline patients?

Keywords : borderline; body; psychoanalysis; transference; counter-transference.
