Abstract

NAYLOR ROCHA, Maria Teresa; SILVA LOPES, Maria Teresa  and  ALEXANDRE DO VALE, André Luiz. The traumatic dimension of social exclusion. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2014, vol.48, n.2, pp.89-100. ISSN 0486-641X.

Social exclusion is a phenomenon that affects a large part of the Brazilian population and presents us, as psychoanalysts, with an ethical issue in face of the suffering it promotes. By reaffirming social exclusion as a traumatic experience, this paper aims to ponder on the theoretical and clinical aspects associated with extensive practice with vulnerable populations, inhabitants of slums in Rio de Janeiro.

Keywords : social exclusion; trauma; psychoanalytic interventions; extensive clinic.
