Abstract

ROCHA, Fernanda de Sousa  and  CHARIGLIONE, Isabelle Patriciá Freitas Soares. Effects of combined interventions in episodic memory and depression in healthy elderly people. Aletheia [online]. 2022, vol.55, n.1, pp.133-150. ISSN 1413-0394.  https://doi.org/10.29327/226091.55.1-7.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to verify associations between measures of episodic memory and depression in healthy elderly people submitted to cognitive, physical and psychopedagogical interventions. The sample consisted of 31 elderly people, with an average age of 69.70 years (SD ± 6.38), 25 women and 6 men. The procedure consisted of different combinations of interventions and their evaluations in diagnostic and memory tests in a one-year follow-up. Data analysis consisted of Friedman's non-parametric test, with a significance level of p=0.05. The results indicated that the combination that best presented cognitive performance in relation to the variables related to learning (p=0.04) and proactive interference (p=0.01) was the "Stimullus + Psicopedagógica". The level of depression decreased throughout the evaluations in all combinations (p=0.01). These findings indicate that combined interventions can be promising in cognitive and mood gains
