Abstract

This literature review discusses several researches about developmental dyslexia focusing on the problems of its definition. Causal factors were classified as extrinsic factors (correlations between brain functioning, genetic factors, constitutional characteristics) and intrinsic ones (cognitive and linguistic). The theoretical approach is grounded on cognitive psychology and cognitive neuropsychology. Based on this literature review, we analyze the possibilities of this perspective providing subsidiaries for an efficient intervention with the dyslexic children.
