The family and community bond is a goal that pervades all the norms of the National Policy of Social Assistance. In view of this centrality, we have investigated, from the propositions of the Science, Technology Studies and the Actor-Network Theory, the production of the bond in the daily practices of a Service of Protection and Integral Assistance to the Family (PAIF), in a CRAS of Porto Alegre City/ RS. We understand bond not as a mere link or association, but as an immaterial object that gains existence because we constantly cultivate networks of practices that produce it. To visualize its performance, we constructed an case study that allows us to discuss, from the contributions of Bruno Latour, the link as a connection that composes subjectivities. We seek, as an ethico-political exercise, to think about the practices of the field of Social Assistance in order to see more possibilities than impossibilities to daily work.
