The Psychological Assessment is the only area of activity restricted to the psychologist. Given the importance of this area for Psychology, this study purposed to investigate the understanding of Psychological Assessment teachers on issues related to teaching of the area in Psychology courses of Higher Education Institutions of Ceará. Contact was made with the coordinators of the 10 institutions that had Psychology undergraduate courses recognized by the Ministry of Education. Was obtained authorization to carry out research in eight (80%) and was kept contact with 14 teachers. To collect data a questionnaire was used which was answered by the teachers. It was found that 42.85% of the teachers were doctors and 76.90% defined the Psychological Assessment as a scientific and/or knowledge process. All the teachers pointed out the importance of the psychometric qualities of the tests as a minimum requirement for being allowed to use. The research allowed having a partial picture of psychology teaching and psychologist training in Psychological Assessment.
