Abstract

A formação do orientador profissional no LIOP: Laboratório de Informação e Orientação Profissional da UFSC - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Rev. ABOP [online]. 1999, vol.3, n.1, pp.23-35. ISSN 1414-8889.

As a result of many years acted in the training of psychologists, teaching the subject Professional Counseling at the Psychology Department at UFSC, the moment has come to reflect on this practice and to be able to transmit to colleagues how and what we think of the training of future counselors. The training of Vocational Counselors, must relate to three levels of learning. The theoretical level: where the basic principles of clinical, educational and organizational psychology are fundamental. Specific knowledge of vocational psychology, the theories of professional counseling, choosing and deciding, and the psychology of the project. The level of practice: the training of the counselor demands practical work conducting professional counseling sessions with individuals or with groups with educational supervision. On a personal level: It’s of extreme importance for the counselors to know and understand the reasons he had for choosing his profession, specially the choice of vocational counseling as his professional activity. We will show the organization and methodology of a model on training professional counselors at LIOP - Laboratory of Information and Vocational Counseling, of the Psychology Department of UFSC, where we work.
