Abstract

RAMOS, Conrado. The body´s domination in the administrated world: one question to the social. Psicol. cienc. prof. [online]. 2004, vol.24, n.1, pp.56-63. ISSN 1414-9893.

According to Theodor W. Adorno’s concept of natural history, this paper reflects on the place occupied by the body in the dialectics of individual and society. It discusses the importance of the body as a social and historical category in Social Psychology. It advocates that any materialistic investigation of the individual in capitalism must take into account the domination of the body and the repression of this experience to the individual. The conclusion is that Psychology should undertake the critical task of denouncing that the deformation of the individual is the outcome of the prevailing form of socialization.
