Abstract

FONTES, Ivanise. Tactile tenderness: body’s origins of the psyche. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.17, pp.109-120. ISSN 1415-1138.

The article stresses the importance of the body in the origin of the psyche. This fact creates the necessity to revise the notion of body in psychoanalytic theory. The sensorial dimension gains a new dimension through the analysis of the freudien text “The ego and the id”. The contribution of two psychoanalysts F. Tustin and G Haag also highlights the sensorial aspect of the earlier psychic constitution. The transference phenomenon gains a special place because it retrieves sensible impressions. The inclusion of listening of the patient’s sensible body is the relevant factor in the attendance of the psychopathologies related to ego’s weak construction as addictive personalities, borderlines, psychosomatic illness and depressive states.

Keywords : Body; Sensoriality; Psychic birth; Contemporary psychopathologies; Transference.
