The aim of the present work is to discuss, based on social-historic psychology, the present challenges of educator’s continuous development. To do so, the study presents terminologies and conceptions, making a critical review of teachers continues formation in Brazil. The work also emphasizes the continuous development as an integrant aspect of the teachers work and points the need of studies to help a better understanding of the dichotomy between theory and practices.
