Abstract

MARCHI, Barbara Frigini De  and  ROSSETTI, Claudia Broetto. Well-being and practice of yarn crafting during the Covid-19 pandemic. Constr. psicopedag. [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.32, pp.33-48. ISSN 1415-6954.  https://doi.org/10.37388/CP2021/v31n32a04.

This study aimed to investigate the practice of yarn crafting and its possible effects on the well-being of Brazilian adults during the current pandemic of COVID-19, under the focus of Positive Psychology. An online survey was carried out with 408 people who practice such activities. The data were analyzed using JAMOVI software, and also content analysis. The regular practice of such handicraft has shown to have a significant positive influence on patients' mental health, especially in relation to affective aspects such as anxiety and stress. Despite being generally understood as simple activities, yarn crafting was complex and with the potential to promote well-being. A development of this research may be the implementation of projects that favor positive experiences and enhance well-being during critical periods such as the one we are going through on a global scale.
