Abstract

QUEIROZ, Elizabeth  and  ARAUJO, Tereza Cristina Cavalcanti Ferreira de. Decision making in rehabilitation team: specific issues related to assistance and research. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2006, vol.9, n.1, pp.3-13. ISSN 1516-0858.

The process of decision-making is a crucial point in health, related to the individual assistance as well to the national policies. The quality of care and its personal and social costs are determined by consumer’s decision of looking for assistance and by the institutional perspectives in treatment and human and financial resources. In fact, actions in the health field result from evaluation and choice of possibilities associated with “what to do” and “how to do”. Because of the importance of the theme, the study address the process of decision making in health, taking into account clinical and research issues. Trying to amplify the comprehension about factors associated to decision-making in health teams, especially in rehabilitation, studies from the national scenario are discussed.
