Abstract

About health, there are many works pointing to the importance of the religiosity and spirituality to cope of the diseases and the adherence of the treatment. Considering the clinic interest of this theme for the psychologist’s work in hospitals and, especially in Oncology, it is suggested a critical analyses of the literature about spiritual/religious coping and cancer. The realized research indicated that the main studies relate the following themes: quality of life, resilience, cultural and professional aspects. More researches must be done in order to give bases to a professional intervention, mainly in Pediatric Oncology, because this area is poorly explored.
