Abstract
GUEDES, Dilcio and ASSUNCAO, Larissa. Relações amorosas na contemporaneidade e indícios do colapso do amor romântico (solidão cibernética?). Rev. Mal-Estar Subj. [online]. 2006, vol.6, n.2, pp.396-425. ISSN 1518-6148.
The essay articulates theoretical considerations on loving relationships, marriage and divorcing on occidental societies in a historical-criticizing perspective, aiming to understand how the phenomenon of loving relationships is taken in a subjective way in the present and how the advent of new technologies insert in the context of affective relations. This work also presents a theoretical reading on the modern romantic love phenomenon, assuming possible traces of its collapse in the contemporariness, seeing a group of social transformations. It also reflects that models of affective-loving relations might being changed by the lessening of primary contacts frequency, by narcissism and exaggerated individualism, by pathologies personification, by absence of power of individuals before choices of behaviorist patterns and of material possessions imposed by the society and ideological apparel turned to mass consumption and the media commercial impact. These aspects seem to generate impulsive-compulsive behaviors, making people dismissible as consumption objects and eager for intervenient knowledge that look for a cure or immediate formula to soothe the unease brought by these changes. Finally, such elements seem to generate lone, anxious and constantly unsatisfied livings. Ephemeral encounters among people appear to configure interpersonal relationships in the present time, due to, partially, narcissistic and individualist cult, equally eased by new technologies and consumption.
