Abstract

ROSA, Leandro Amorim. Common sense: possibilities for the construction of a political psychology. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2013, vol.13, n.28, pp.533-548. ISSN 1519-549X.

This article aims to address a benchmark still little known in Brazil: the political psychology founded on the concept of common sense. From the conception of common sense exhibited in the text, we propose a political psychology that enables the integration of several references of political and social psychology. It is understood, mainly from the Gramscian thought, common sense as polysemic, polymorphic and contradictory. Therefore, common sense should not only be seen as just a "black area of ignorance", but as having potential of criticism and social change. The framework proposed here is not intended to be a definitive and/or a universal conception, but rather contribute to the development process of political psychology.

Keywords : Common sense; Political psychology; Gramsci; Subjectivity; Praxis.
