ABSTRACT Violence against women has a multidimensional and multidetermined character. Therefore, the attention focused on these situations must cover an articulated network that represents its needs. This article is a summary of a qualitative exploratory research that aimed to map the Rede de Enfrentamento à Violência Contra as Mulheres (Combat Network of Violence Against Women) in a Brazilian southern municipal ity. The snowball sampling was used to collect information and construct a flow chart of indications. The main problem presented is that, in contrast to what is foreseen by the current public policies, networking has been constructed informally from participant's contacts. There are two main sectors, Health and Juridical front. The sectors of Public Assistance and Public Security remain in the background of operation and recognition. In addition, the lack of services, such as the Reference Center, is one of the most concerning results, which directs the lack of engagement of the State with coping strategies.
