Abstract

SOUZA, ANDRÉ LEMOS DE  and  RASERA, EMERSON FERNANDO. Training of judicial mediators: content, methodologies and effects of a mediation course. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2023, vol.23, n.57, pp.359-374.  Epub June 07, 2024. ISSN 2175-1390.

Given growth of mediation in the Brazilian justice system, it is important to think about the proper training of mediators. Thus, this work aimed to analyze the meanings of judicial mediation training for teachers and students in a private course. Written activities, individual and group interviews were analyzed. Based on a thematic analysis of all the material, the text identifies the meanings of training in mediation as: a moment of practical learning of mediation contents; a process of didactic and relational construction; and a personally and professionally transformative event. These meanings show the potential of training to bring new perspectives to mediators and their action in society and invite to expand thereflection on the normative criteria to assess the quality of training in mediation in the country.

Keywords : mediation; negotiation; professional education; forensic psychology.
