Abstract

IZCOVICH, Luis  and  OLIVEIRA, Cícero. Psychoanalysis and politics. Stylus (Rio J.) [online]. 2018, n.36, pp.19-26. ISSN 1676-157X.

In this text, the aim is to explore how the position of politics and psychoanalysis differs in regard to the desire. The question is justified from two remarks by Lacan. The first postulates that happiness has become a factor that politics has taken into consideration, the second poses a proposition that Lacan condenses as follows: "the unconscious is politics". This leads us to develop this proposition, situate the position of psychoanalysis in relation to politics and define what an ethic of desire means. This course will shed light on what is possible to expect from psychoanalysis for the XXI century.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; Politics; Ethic; Desire.
