This study describes the processes of construction and determination of the main measurement characteristics of a set of eight scales for measuring organizational culture factors based on Hofstede's studies about national and organizational culture, and on GLOBE Project about culture and organizational behavior. The sample was 490 university professors belonging to 14 different HEI, from 4 states of Brazil. They answered individually a set of scales with 115 items to measure the factors of organizational culture. Data were processed by the use of SPSS 11.0. The results show that the final version of the scales for measurement of the organizational culture factors, excepting the scale for measuring masculinity, indicate content and construct validity, and reliability that recommend their use for measuring these characteristics. Furthermore, the internal relationships between the organizational culture factors are discussed.
