Abstract

ALFREDO MUNIZ, Oscar et al. Subjectivation of the experience of violence in upheaval by post-traumatic stress. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2005, vol.11, n.18, pp.188-204. ISSN 1677-1168.

This study aimed at establishing the state of Mental Health of victims of armed violence in the Department of Chocó (Colombia). Specifically, it was an attempt to understand how the violent experience becomes subjective or psychically integrated. The methodology was that of case study. The study is specific and descriptive, based on inductive reasoning from the handling of data collected from clinical interviews put to the service of the investigation. A qualitative investigation of the problem indicates that narcissism protects the subject of the real death experience implied in trauma by violence, the paranoid logic settles down in relation to the Other, and the crease on the familiar nucleus occurs as a result of those two aspects.

Keywords : Trauma; Upheaval by post-traumatic stress (TEPT); Subjectivation of violent experience; Armed violence.
