Considering the high levels of aggression in the educational field, research with a quasi-experimental design was conducted, comparing the results of two intervention strategies to verify which is the most effective for reducing aggressive behavior in childhood. Thirty-six students from the 4th grade of the elementary school participated and were divided into three groups, two experimental ones (affective-discursive and informative-discursive groups) and a control one, evaluated at a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up moments, through the Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire and the Bryant Empathy Scale. Data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics. Overall, the results indicated that the two strategies evaluated are effective in reducing childhood aggressive behavior.
