Abstract

This state-of-the art study aimed at analyzing the works published in the “Proceedings” of six congresses, from 1999 to 2009, held biannually, by the Brazilian Association for Vocational Guidance (Associação Brasileira de Orientação Profissional, ABOP). We analyzed 733 abstracts of oral presentations, panels and round tables, organized according to the following categories: type of paper, number of authors, institutional affiliation, home state, target subjects and topics. The data showed a prevalence to exist of research reports followed by experience reports, with adolescents and young adults seeking access to university. Works by one author prevail, followed by co-authorship, from the southeast and south regions. Most studies are about vocational choice, services and evaluation tools, followed by studies about other transition in the vita cycle and guidance to different populations. The analysis of each congress showed what was produced and the investigating trends in the decade analyzed.
