Considering the professional choice making as important decision process on people's life, this research aimed to explore relationships of positive and negative affects with professional interests and personality, using the instruments Zanon Affects Scale, Self-Directed Search, and Personality Factorial Battery. 92 high-school students, aged between 14 and 18, attended this research, being 59.8% girls. The results showed little relation between affects and professional interests. Considering affects and personality, moderate magnitude coefficients were observed. Also, positive and negative affects were predicted by Extroversion and Neuroticism, respectively. Further research is recommended with complementary constructs from Vocational Guidance and Positive Psychology theory.
