Abstract

GARCIA, Roseana Moraes. The Ethic of Care and Democratic Society. Winnicott e-prints [online]. 2011, vol.6, n.1, pp.79-87. ISSN 1679-432X.

The society, in winnicottian psychoanalysis, is understood as a sum of individuals, thereby, social health, in other words the ability to live in a democratic society depends on individual health. The individual health is, in turn, linked to care that every human being needs in order to mature and develop the ability to be ethical. In this paper I intend to show that ethics which enables the construction of a democratic society is the ethic of care.
