This article reports an experience developed in waiting room groups in the Rede Feminina de Combate ao Câncer (RFCC) in a city in Southern Brazil. As the theoretical basis used to Health Psychology, health is considered from a dynamic perspective that is influenced by biological, psychological and social aspects. Thus, the psychologist work in health institutions and, more precisely, in the waiting rooms of these sites makes effective promotion strategies and health education. The aim of this paper is to present an account of this experience with a view to the importance of work in institutions that prioritize full understanding of health and reflection interventions in these contexts. Therefore, we used group dynamics techniques to promote the reflection of the participants. Later, speeches and remarks relevant to the study were recorded in a diary. It was verified that the intervention made it possible to create a space of reception and exchange of experiences on health practices among users of the network and professionals. We also reflected on the meanings and modes of care according to the cultural representations of the participants.
