Abstract

IZZEDIN BOUQUET, Romina  and  PACHAJOA LONDONO, Alejandro. Norms, practices and beliefs about child rearing... yesterday and today. Liberabit [online]. 2009, vol.15, n.2, pp.109-115. ISSN 1729-4827.

At first we explain the connection between the multiple conceptions of childhood and some child rearing norms in several periods of human history. Then we emphasize what happens during the child first years of life, in a social and family way, to understand how childhood is perceived, what child rearing means and which its components are nowadays. Finally we recommend to think about the need to propose psychological studies about national political and legislative conditions that establish most of the child rearing.

Keywords : Adolescence; Child rearing; Parenting styles; Childhood; Socialization.
