Abstract

SANTOS, Manoel Antônio dos. "We're been taped": social constructionist approach to systemic couple therapy. Vínculo [online]. 2005, vol.2, n.2, pp.51-60. ISSN 1806-2490.

We present in this work the theoretical assumptions that sustain interventions in systemic couple therapy orientated by a social constructionist approach. According to this proposal couples are challenged to develop better strategies of dialogical conversations that may onset meaning reconstructions and thus, the creation of a changing context. The attendance setting is composed by two therapists and a supporting reflexive team formed by professionals that don't directly interact with the couple and the therapists. The conversational proposal contributes to help the spouses to build new narratives that may foster realities different from those ones marked by mismatches, incomprehension, suffering and pain.

Keywords : Social constructionism; Couple therapy; Meaning reconstruction.
