Abstract

DUTRA, Wagner Honorato  and  SILVA, Bruna Coutinho. A Ubu to Call Ours: Essay on Bolsonarism. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.1, pp.86-104.  Epub May 17, 2024. ISSN 1808-4281.  https://doi.org/10.12957/epp.2022.66481.

This essay is aimed at showing that bolsonarism is a political and ideological device that works in line with socio-political processes anchored in subjectivity. In order to evidence the overlap between these spheres, we traverse the territories of philosophy, psychoanalysis and literature, while articulating them systematically. The purpose is to clarify how heterogeneous processes are organized in order to support the bolsonarist ideology and vest it with effectiveness. To this end, we initially present the theme of grotesqueness across different problematizations throughout history, mainly in literature, pointing how it personifies itself in political and social relations as well as in modes of subjectivation. Then, we analyze the manifestations of evil in the social field based on forms of enjoyment typical of hypermodern capitalist societies. We imply that the imperative of enjoyment, rooted on aggressiveness, contributes to sustaining hatred towards others, either because of their unsettling differences or because of their frightening similarities. Thenceforth, we assess how it makes itself present in bolsonarism. We try to demonstrate the thesis that grotesqueness, violence and their manifestations are phenomenas resistant to domestication, precisely for being elements inherent to human nature.

Keywords : grotesque; Ubu; bolsonarism..
