Abstract

SETTI, Sandra Mara; TRINDADE, Adalberto de Araújo  and  HOHENDORFF, Jean Von. Family Health Strategy’s Performance in Cases of Sexual Violence Against Children and Adolescents. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.1, pp.105-124.  Epub May 17, 2024. ISSN 1808-4281.  https://doi.org/10.12957/epp.2022.66482.

Considering Primary Health Care’s coverage and privileged role on identifying and tackling sexual violence against children and adolescents, the objective of this article was to understand how the team Family Health Strategy intervenes in such cases. This is a qualitative and documental study based in ecological insertion. We observed a Family Health Strategy’s routine, analyzed medical records, and interviewed 20 professionals. Data was analyzed by Thematic Analysis in the light of the Bioecological Theory of Human Development. The main results indicate an absence of protocols when working with children and adolescents who were victims of sexual violence in the researched Family Health Strategy, lack of professional capacitation when dealing with these cases, and fragility of the intersectoral network. Thus, Family Health Strateg’s performance demands improvement, such as capacitation and the construction of service flows that guarantee integral and continuous care of children and adolescents who were victims of sexual violence and their families.
