MINATOGAWA, Taís Michele and NETO, Francisco Lotufo. Cultural aspects and the application of cognitive behavioral therapy: a case study. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2005, vol.1, n.2, pp.59-65. ISSN 1808-5687.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for an Asian client showed the need to consider sociocultural factors and individual aspects in the therapeutic process. The authors describe therapy sessions of a client of Chinese origin who showed difficulties in family and professional relationships related to hostility. It was tended to fit in the self-affirmation training with some characteristics of a client from Chinese background living in a Western-style society.
