GOTTARDO, Luziene Francisca da Silva and FERREIRA, Maria Cristina. Social support, core self-evaluations and well-being in health workers. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2015, vol.67, n.1, pp.146-160. ISSN 1809-5267.
The impact of emotional, instrumental and informational support at work and self-core evaluation upon job well-being, operationalized through the job satisfaction and the positive affection toward work, was investigated. The sample was composed by 302 health professionals from Rio de Janeiro State. They answered to a Social Support at Work Scale, a Self-Core Evaluation Scale, a Job Satisfaction Scale and a Positive Affection toward Work Scale. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that: the bigger the perception of informational support received from co-workers and supervisors at work, the higher is their job satisfaction and their positive affection toward work; the bigger self-core evaluations, the higher is their job satisfaction and their positive affection toward work. It was concluded that the informational social support at work has a great relevance for health worker well-being.
